Visiting Professor, Harvard Law School Kevin Doolan

A partner at the Moller Institute, Kevin is an ex-UK premier law firm partner who sat on its management committee and developed its client focus initiative before moving into law firm pricing coaching. Kevin also teaches both the Pricing and Business Development case studies at Harvard Law, Masters in International Management Program at London School of Economics and executive education at Moller Institute the professional education arm of Churchill College at Cambridge University.

Former Chair of Orrick Ralph Baxter

After leading a prominent global law firm for nearly a quarter century, where he was an early adopter of business professionals in meaningful leadership roles, Ralph has turned his attention to a diverse set of activities across the spectrum of the evolving legal profession. He now serves on the Advisory Boards of the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession, the Stanford Law School Center on the Legal Profession, and the Center for the Study of the Legal Profession at the Georgetown Law Center. He has further devoted himself to modernizing the way legal service is delivered in a variety of ways outside of academia, including active engagement in legal technology, serving on boards of Lex Machina, Legal Zoom, and Intapp.

Professor of Management and Hochberg Fellow of Leadership Development at the George Washington University School of Business, and a Fellow in the Centre for Management Development, London Business School; and regular contributor in Harvard Business Review and been cited in such outlets as the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, and Business 2.0. James was named one of the world’s top ten executive educators by the International Council for Executive Leadership Development. He has published over 50 academic papers and case studies, and is the author of five books, including the award-winning, best-selling Organizational and Managerial Wisdom and the forthcoming Lessons on Leadership. He has designed and delivered hundreds of executive programs for firms like Nestle, UBS, Conoco-Phillips, and Goldman Sachs, as well as several major law firms and US Congressmen.

  • What is the instruction format?

    The ABLA program predominantly consists of live (virtual) classroom instruction delivered over 3 consecutive weeks. Students will be expected to come prepared and ready to engage with the instructors and classmates throughout. This includes reading any case studies or reading materials in advance of the courses. Week 1 (live instruction) will take place over two half-days. Students will then study independently in Week 2. In Week 3, the cohorts will again come together over two half-days for group discussion on the case study materials. Classes will be held between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET.

  • Who is eligible to enroll?

    Admission is limited to law firm Chiefs and other senior business professionals. This is to encourage the highest quality of peer-to-peer learning and interaction.

  • Will I receive a diploma or credential?

    Graduates will be credentialed as Accredited Business of Law Professionals (ABLP) showcasing that they have received this extra training, which will help distinguish them amongst their fellow peers.

  • How much does the program cost?
